About

Me

Alicen is an urban fantasy writer, cosplayer, podcaster, and crocheter who spends more time in fictional lands than in reality. She’s been passionate about writing since she was a child, and can usually be found with a notebook and pen in hand. A lover of all things nerdy, Alicen moved to Vancouver in 2014 to study film and television – and in doing so, fell into the world of cosplay. These days most of her free time is spent making cosplays, planning cosplays, thinking about cosplays, or running around dressed as either Emma Swan or Princess Leia. In 2017 she also learned how to crochet, and since then has applied it to making her other great passion in life – coffee – just that much nerdier by designing and creating crocheted coffee cup cozies based on her favourite characters. Alicen is also a passionate mental health advocate and is the co-host of the Not Enough Spoons podcast.

When she isn’t geeking out over her favourite TV shows, Alicen can be found using her writing skills for the greater good at her Communications job with a local non-profit society.
